Sensei Chris got us to do some exercises this week, concentrating on gently making technique from a double wrist grab attack, trying to use flowing, circular movements and keeping the technique precise. We tried shihonage, ikkyo and tenchinage in this way, and it's useful sometimes to concentrate on the form and precision, rather than a desperate struggle to form techniques at speed.
We had a dynamic practice at the end with one-in-the-middle and ukes coming one after another so that we could do repeated iriminage, a technique that none of us are really great at. Nice for practicing breakfalls too.
At least three of us were terribly tired from work commitments, so a few mistakes were made here and there. Thankfully, no resulting injuries and we live to fight another day. Confidence was higher than two weeks back, and everyone enjoyed the session.
